Mornington Peninsula drummer Kat Greta, has released her new EP Get Up and Go – alongside the lead single Let It Go, featuring Charlie Lane on vocals.

It’s not often you have the drummer at the forefront of musical creations, and this modern/vintage hybrid dazzles, with cool 80’s vibes and a sharp and simple arrangement, a nod to the melodic styles of INXSCarole King and The Beatles.  “Let It Go is about letting go of what isn’t serving you well, and finding the courage to be free. Life is short. In this case for me, it was rediscovering the joy that playing the drums brings me” Kat explains.

Kat’s background and genetic make-up are telling: coming from a large Italian family, she is related to Nic and Chris Cester of the iconic band Jet, Eugene Cester from the legendary TISM, and opera singer Christina Russo.

The single comes off Kat’s forthcoming EP Get Up And Go, which is out now.  Kat will also be launching the EP at a live unveiling at The Workers Club in Fitzroy on Sunday August 28.
