Wafia

Singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Wafia magnifies identifiable and idiosyncratic experiences in the form of alternative pop anthems. The gold-selling, Netherlands-born, Australia-based, Iraqi-Syrian, queer songstress relies on a keen sense of observation and sharp pen as she catalogs the world in real-time on her 2020 debut for Atlantic Records.

Clocking nearly 300 million cumulative streams and earning the praise of The FADER and Refinery29 as of 2019, she finds elegance in simplicity.

Wafia recently unveiled her intoxicating new single, “Flowers and Superpowers”, and its dreamy companion video directed by filmmaker/photographer Alexandra Gaville.

Produced by GRAMMY Award-nominee Rogét Chahayed (Travis Scott, DRAM, Louis the Child) and GRAMMY Award-winner Hit-Boy (Travis Scott, Beyoncé, Jay-Z & Kanye West), “Flowers and Superpowers” was co-written by Wafia and Wrabel, with whom she previously collaborated on the 2018 hit, “I’m Good.

Wafia is currently hard at work recording her long-awaited debut album, due out later this year. She’s returning to Australian shores this year though, to treat us to a national tour.
